Limo for Salmond?

So, "THE cost of running the Scottish Government's car fleet has soared by almost 70 per cent since the SNP's election victory in May. Ministers are set to run up a bill of over £1 million for their chauffeur-driven limousines in their first year of office."

Puts the proverbial 'taxi for McLetchie' into some kind of perspective.

One rule for them ... and one for us.

Mr Smith was interested to read Murdo MacLeod's article in last week's Scotland in Sunday about the transport habits of the former Ministers in the last Scottish Executive.

"THEY told mere mortals to walk, while they took 27 journeys a day in swanky ministerial limos. New figures have revealed that Scotland's ministers took more than 40,000 car journeys in their ministerial cars during the four years of the last Labour-Lib Dem administration at Holyrood. They took the cars despite launching large-scale campaigns to get other Scots to walk or take public transport."

Clearly a case of one rule for them and one rule for us "mere mortals." Amazing coincidence the way that the information only came out after the last Scottish Parliament Election and not before it.
