"AN SNP councillor quit his local authority development post after his own leader showed him evidence he had ordered officials to drop their objections to a multi-million-pound planning application. Documents show that Jim Dickson, who until two weeks ago was chairman of West Lothian Council's development control committee, told planners that a proposed housing development near West Calder "had to be supported".
He's very dodgy, but why he was ever allowed to be into a position where there was a clear conflict of interest between his political and business interests raises even more questions about how West Lothian Council was and is being run.
