Amnesia.

So, Scottish Labour Leader Unelect, Wendy Alexander's, latest "big idea" is reported in the Herald. "The growing gaps in society left by drugs, alcohol and poverty need to be addressed by Labour if it is to fight its way back into power in Scotland, according to its leader-elect."

Mr Smith can't help but remind Wendy that Labour was in power at the Scottish Parliament (albeit with the Liberal Democrats) for eight years until May 2007, and the Labour Party has been in power UK-wide since 1997. So who exactly has been responsible thus far for not addressing the "growing gaps in society"?

In fact, in her resignation letter as a Scottish Executive Minister in 2002 didn't Ms Alexander say that, "During the five hectic years since, Labour in the UK, and in Scotland, with our coalition partners, has achieved much of which we can be proud"?
